Job Description

Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant is responsible for daily performing a variety of accounting and finance related functions within the Finance department including being responsible for understanding and preparing journal entries and GL account reconciliations, working with the business to understand the nature of the transaction, applying technical accounting knowledge on various projects and being a key resource in the monthly close process.

Position Responsibilities

  • Participate actively to the monthly closing including preparation of the required journal entries, accruals and balance sheet accounts analysis.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis.
  • Analyze the monthly variance and forecast reports and data related to management costs and operational costs.
  • Prepare various financial reports.
  • Completion of weekly KPI and Sales Forecast Reporting.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with various currencies for accounting purposes.
  • Identify and resolve more complex problems and apply problem-solving skills to deal with the situation.
  • Collaborate with intercultural and international team-based environments.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Have a diploma or a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Have minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Be very familiar with the Microsoft Office suite, including in-depth knowledge of Excel.
  • Have experience with an ERP system (SAP an asset)
  • Strong attention to detail as well as both technical and analytical skills.
  • Resourcefulness, independence, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to make information understandable and ability to work on a team.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Flexibility and excellent customer service skills.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
