We are currently looking for an Maintenance Technician at our Fenton Facility which manufactures vehicle stability control systems and related components. This position will be on either the afternoon or midnight shift.

Job Description

  • Perform highly skilled corrective machinery/tool maintenance, troubleshooting and repair for a variety of assembly and test equipment consisting of electronics, machine controls, machine vision, electrical, pneumatics, software, hardware and robotics systems
  • Develop, coordinate, track and perform preventative maintenance programs on production equipment (i.e., cleaning, retooling, oil-changing, calibrating, aligning, etc.)
  • Assist in process design improvement engineering studies involving product throughput, first-run yields, ergonomics, tooling, equipment and manufacturing processes
  • May liaise with outside vendors

Skills Required:
  • Manual dexterity
  • Ability to use/operate hand tools and/or power tools, shop equipment (lathe, mille, grinder, etc.)
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform calculations with whole numbers quickly and accurately without a calculator
  • Read, understand and perceive relevant technical and non-technical material
  • Technical aptitude and strong trouble shooting ability
  • Analytical ability
  • Computer and software literate
  • Understanding and ability to apply TS16949 and ISO14001 standards
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of PLC/SRC/RS LOGIX, Ladder Logic
  • Knowledge of CNC Machining or manual machining
  • Knowledge of robotic/vision systems
  • Knowledge of process improvement, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance
  • Prior experience in a team-based management culture
  • Applicable license
Physical demands:
  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction
  • Communication skills using the spoken word
  • Ability to see within normal parameters
  • Ability to hear within normal range
  • Ability to move about
  • Ability to handle heavy (15 lbs or more) parts or equipment on a repetitive basis
  • Ability to make gross and/or fine adjustments to parts, machines, vehicles, or controls that require coordinating fine or gross finger or hand movement with visual information
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, squat, and twist

Educational Requirements:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent – and—
  • Minimum 3 years related mechanical or electrical experience; or
  • Applicable apprenticeship or in-house training program
Preferred:
  • Associates Degree in related field
