Job Description

Our Business Unit Chassis Systems has recently successfully been awarded additional business in the Region Southeast Asia/India/Pacific. Therefore we will launch a new greenfield plant in Haiphong (Vietnam) in 2019 and are seeking for a Manufacturing Project Engineer(m/f)


  • Support the process planning and industrialization of production means and represent plant interests.

  • Strive continuously for improvement of quality and production performance applying Lean Production principles in plant teams from production and support functions complying to ZF PS standards.

  • Control production performance indicators to support product cost calculations and initiate counter measures in case of negative performance deviation.

  • Detect, analyze and resolve problems in day-to-day production including the supporting processes of maintenance and quality.

  • Plan process and equipment improvements and manage procurement of required equipment and its implementation (specification / RFQ / training / documentation)

  • Perform analysis of the production means in order to support operations planning for capacity and labor (time studies / staffing requirements / investment).

  • Prepare and maintain process documentation like Standard Work Sheet, assembly line layout, assembly manual, contingency plan, PFMEA and prepare procedures to comply with ISO 16949.

  • Ensure that the production means and processes are safe and ergonomic and in compliance to OHSAS.

  • Set up, maintain and optimize assembly line parameters.

  • Establish and develop local equipment suppliers for modifications and / or additions to existing equipment.

  • Support and instruct plant maintenance 


  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in production / maintenance / manufacturing engineering preferably in automotive

  • Know-how in assembly processes and equipment as well as experience with TPM and SAP PM

  • Experience with MTM planning preferred

  • Good communication skills and team spirit

  • Analytical and problem solving skills with hands-on approach

  • Sound understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles / TPS

  • Solid PC knowledge in PDM, SAP, CAD & MS Office

  • Advanced skills in English in speaking and writing
