Job Description


Main Objectives

Responsible for performing supplier-related activities surrounding process control, APQP, and quality launches for new or modified products, in order to support and fulfill the requirements of internal and external customers, all while ensuring local adherence to global quality objectives and corporate standards. Tracking of actions and intense follow up with suppliers and ZF internal departments (such as Developing, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality and Logistics) is necessary. In addition to this it is necessary to be consultant and hands on to achieve best results for ZF and our customers.

Key Responsibilities
1. Overall project management and coordinator for supplier approval process measures to achieve maturity level of purchased parts while ensuring the project will be completed on time
2. Coordinate the SDE group and conduct VDA audits at supplier plants follow up with action items and develop suppliers.
3. Manages and coordinates supplier development activities by leading supplier audits, analyzing supplier performance and improvement plans
4. Monitor supplier-rating system; provide input on appropriate corrective actions as needed and actively search and align focus projects within the region with the different Divisions and product lines in ZF
5. Leading of cross-functional teams; tracking of all project tasks regarding supplier development activities
6. Execution of project management by creating master project plans and KPI based project tracking. Superordinate tracking of all activities in the region.
7. Preparation and execution of project meetings and steering committees
8. Preparation of decision templates and presentations for the steering committee including escalation recommendations and action tracking
9. Evaluation of risk analysis
10. Leadership of task forces and working within task force teams
11. Achievement of cross-functional input and buy-in on supply chain strategies through proactive communication
12. Assessment of process know-how of new and existing suppliers within the scope of Supplier Readiness Process through feasibility studies and develop tools to improve this process
13. Lead and kickoff technology workshops to screen technology and manufacturing practices at the suppliers
14. Realization of commodity/ process specific Continual Improvement Process (CIP) actions.
15. Provide and plan trainings on SDE and Supplier management related topics
16. If necessary support ZF Divisions and product lines with project management for supplier development measures to achieve maturity level of purchased parts while ensuring the project will be completed on time and the needed capacity is installed
17. Manages supplier development activities on a global level, by leading supplier audits, analyzing supplier performance and improvement plans
18. Manages Supplier Quality by launching new programs and ensuring parts meet quality requirements, in addition to leading resolutions of problems in suppliers subsequent performance, by analyzing supplier quality performance, supports purchasing and cost reduction programs
19. Support ZF global organization for supplier development tasks upon request
20. Coach and train divisional SDEs, plant SQA as well as suppliers
21. Other tasks assigned


Basic Requirements

1. Working experience >8 years, in Automotive industry
2. Education Bachelor or above in Automotive/Mechanical/Material Engineering
3. English Fluent
4. German As a plus
5. Computer Skilled
6. Qualification Certified VDA6.3 Auditor and Internal Auditor preferred

Requirement, Professional Skills and Abilities

1. Knowledge of manufacturing processes (especially in Rubber, Resins, Forging)
2. Good knowledge of material specification and testing standards
3. Familiar with quality system such as ISO/TS 16949
4. Successful experience of supplier project management
5. Expert of quality management tools
6. Proactive and strict working style
7. Good at communication and team work
8. Quick learner
9. Flexible for extensive travels
