Position Description:
This position will be responsible for leading the manufacturing processes within the Commercial Vehicle Steering Systems Product Line, including the development of machine requirement specifications and the acquisition of assets necessary to deliver the desired business result.

Position Requirements:

  • Support the development of business cases by providing estimated investment and manpower required.
  • Utilize engineering techniques and lean concepts with the intent of improving process flows, reducing operational expenses, developing new processes and improving productivity across the Business Unit.
  • Analyze and challenge existing procedures in areas of responsibility throughout the facilities, making recommendations and working with Operational Management to integrate solutions.
  • Additional responsibilities may include facility manpower planning, providing layout for equipment and modifying as necessary as well as productivity planning, inspecting tooling and gauging, machine capacity analysis, process effectiveness analysis, developing and maintaining engineered time standards, value stream mapping, process flow and line balancing. 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field required
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision 
  • ​Demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal and planning skills
  • ​Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Must have the ability to travel as necessary

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
  • ​Project management experience preferred
