Job Description

We are looking for a new colleague in the Electronics department at our location in Shirley

Your tasks as Senior Electronics Engineer (m/f):

  • Electronic Circuit Design: Development of robust electronic circuit designs, covering a wide range of digital and analogue technologies, for high volume, safety critical automotive control systems.
  • Electronic Circuit Analysis: Worst Case Analysis using calculation (eg. Excel, Mathcad) & simulation
  • Safety and Reliability Analysis: FMEA, FTA & Reliability Analysis in support of ISO 26262/IEC61508
  • Requirements, Design & Test Documentation : Developing key deliverables in support of engineering activities, in accordance with ZF TRW procedures.
  • Validation, Verification and Test: Generate test plans and conduct validation/verification/test programmes to ensure designs are fit for purpose and conform to design requirements
  • Develop other team members, liaise with contract functions and co-ordinate programmes/development activities
  • Support communication with customer and supplier interfaces
  • Support the introduction of EPS ECUs into mass production at electronic production plants worldwide

Your profile as Senior Electronics Engineer (m/f):


  • Educated to degree level (in a relevant subject)
  • 8+ years experience in electronic design, analysis and validation in a high volume and/or high reliability market
  • Good understanding of electronic components and manufacturing assembly techniques and processes
  • Experience in key safety analysis processes/tools (e.g. FMEA)
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills; particularly reporting
  • Self motivated with a willingness to push existing boundaries and learn/develop new skills
  • Willing and able to travel overseas (to support customers, suppliers and manufacturing sites etc.)

  • Member of relevant professional body (e.g. IET)
  • Automotive system and design experience (e.g. requirements, processes and tools)
  • Familiar with key safety requirements/processes (e.g. ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE, FTA etc.)
