Sr. Cost Engineer

Position Summary: Sr. Cost Engineering Consultant supporting Tsetinis US Cost Engineering Team with everyday tasks as outlined below

Position Responsibilities:
Technical and General Responsibilities:
  • Use our proprietary cost calculation software and be able to independently build bottom-up product cost calculations
  • Provide quality checks and feedback on cost models generated by junior team members
  • Perform advanced analyses, individually test model parameter sensitivities and interpret results to identify cost drivers
  • Perform supplier visits to validate and update cost calculation inputs and parameters, and to identify product cost reduction opportunities
  • Lead hypotheses generation for sustainable product cost reduction, and develop recommendations and implementation roadmap
  • Maintain and expand internal knowledge repository with regards to technologies and production processes
  • Lead and manage a team to deliver projects on-time and on-budget
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members

    Client-Facing Responsibilities:
  • Own, manage, and deepen relationships with client stakeholders
  • Lead preparation for and facilitate VA/VE product cost workshops
  • Lead preparation for and facilitate supplier negotiations, based on identified cost down potential and improvement levers
  • Communicate project progress, findings, and next steps to clients through oral and / or written summaries
  • Create project deliverables and comprehensive management summaries
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

    Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Engineering Economics or related field
  • 7 -8+ years of experience and leading technical projects
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings
  • In depth understanding of multiple manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, welding, casting, injection molding, etc.)
  • Prior experience working on and / or leading project teams
  • Prior experience working in product design, engineering, or manufacturing
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated strengths in problem structuring and advanced data analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in using Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Willingness to travel

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master's in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Engineering Economics or related field
  • Ability to take direction, coaching, and feedback
  • Prior client-facing experience
  • Prior experience managing multiple resources, including providing mentorship, coaching, and feedback to team members
  • Ability to navigate through difficult situations
  • High energy, proactive, and ability to anticipate challenges and next steps
