Job Description

This exciting placement role is to be part of the team responsible for the design and development of Steer-by-Wire systems. You will be working on a challenging new product with a team of experienced engineers.

Your task:
  • Take responsibility for designing new test equipment, fixtures and components. You will be encouraged to use your own knowledge, skills & initiative to complete the design, and to see it through to a working solution. You will be working under guidance with opportunities to learn new skills along the way.
  • Support team members to assist with various hands-on development tasks & work packages. These include developing and documenting assembly methods, and organising tests, analysing results and preparing reports.
  • Work primarily on Mechanical Engineering tasks within a multi-disciplinary team.

Your profile:
  • You should be enthusiastic about a range of Mechanical Engineering topics, subjects & techniques, ideally with some experience outside an academic environment.
  • You should have a strong academic record.
  • You should have an inquisitive nature and enjoy solving problems.
  • You should be able to work effectively with a range of people.
  • You should have good attention to detail.
