Overview

A Test Engineering Intern/Co-op works assignments and responsibilities that are associated with an entry level Test engineer but tailored to the educational development of the student. Emphasis will be placed on duties that support the student's academic and career interests in addition to providing contributions to ZF. Likely duties will center on New Product Launch support, assisting with Test Equipment Software Development, and Test Equipment Hardware Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the test project planning and completion of tasks for New Product Launch.
  • Provides updates for test equipment project timing plans and cost tracking ensuring adherence to agreed cost and timing objectives.
  • Implements Test Strategies based on ZF cost and quality goals.
  • Review, update, and implement test equipment specifications at the direction of Sr. Engineers.
  • Participate with Design Engineering, to develop efficient and effective test specifications with due regard to failure/OE/Warranty data and ‘lessons learned’ on other products.
  • Support the design, build and commission equipment to the highest possible standard, with support from other engineers and/or outside contract resources as applicable to a project.
  • Prepare technical equipment manual/design file to include equipment drawings, specifications, records of all major design decisions, test results and change requests/authority etc.
  • Support / Write test software employing best practice principles ensuring integrity of the test system and of the product.
  • Validate and obtain approval/sign-off of test equipment in accordance with department/company procedures and ‘best practice’ with documentation covering (as appropriate):
- Calibration routines
- Measurement System Analysis (MSA / R&R)
- Risk Assessment
- Maintenance schedule
- Recommended spares

Job Requirements

Education Requirements
Must be currently pursuing a 4-year college degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience and Skill Requirements
•Experience/knowledge in Analog circuit and Digital circuit design.
•Software experience (Visual Basic, .NET, C++)
•Good communication and organizational skills
