Chassis System Mechatronic Engineer in Shanghai at ZF

Job Description


1.     Transfer/ Build up necessary development process/ knowledge into local team by coordination/ working with German core teams for ZF Chassis mechatronic products, e.g. AKC, eTB, ERC, etc.

2.     Interface and communicate with both internal and external customers on mechatronic technical matters, incl. customer product applications, problem resolution and customer presentations, to expand business in local.

3.     Communicate requirements, issues, and schedule details to engineering core teams

4.     Support local Sales Team with Engineering input for customer requested quotations

5.     Work with chassis mechanical engineers/ CAD designers to develop 2D/3D designs & packages checks through each project phase.

6.     Cooperatively develop design alternatives & recommendations with customers to resolve any problems.

7.     Participate in all stages of product design, development and documentation for new and current mechatronic products through project assignments.

8.     Investigate new technologies and consult with suppliers if necessary to obtain latest technical information.

9.     Participate in benchmarking activities investigating competitive products and assess any feature advantages.

10.  Maintain and expand professional/technical knowledge by attending appropriate training, monitoring publications, expanding networks, and participating in professional societies.

11.  Comply with ISO/TS16949, ISO 26262 (Road Vehicles Functional Safety), ISO/IEC 15504 (Automotive SPICE), and all ZF policies and procedures.

12.  Support global projects in other regions out of China when required.

13.  Perform other duties as assigned.


Basic Requirements :

  • Working experience: 2+ years experience in a system engineering role in the development of a complex electronic / mechanical system 

  • Education: Bachelor degree in Mechatronics / Mechanical Engineering

  • English: Fluent / very good – both verbal and written

  • German: Preferred

  • Computer: Sound application skills in MS Office software

12.    Preferred skills and experience:

a)      Experience of electric motors and control

b)      Knowledge of requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS)

c)    Knowledge of “Road Vehicles Functional Safety” (ISO 26262) and experience in relevant mechatronic systems development (e.g. EPS)

d)    Experience in the design of electronic controllers for automotive systems, especially of safety relevant systems (ASIL D Systems)

e)      Experience with dSPACE tools

f)       Knowledge of design for safety critical systems

g)      Experience with Vector

h)      Experience with mechatronic calibration

i)       CAD skills (e.g. Catia)

j)       Experience with vehicle/ chassis development
