Position Summary: Facilitates maintaining a safe and healthful environment by identifying and anticipating concerns and hazards; developing and enforcing systems, policies and procedures. Responsible for compliance for all environmental, safety and health aspects including federal, state and local as well as ZF requirements. As a member of the HR team, adheres to all HR policies and practices and assists with all HR related activities.

Position Duties:

Supports the TSC facility and Corporate functions for all matters relating to Environmental Health and Safety.

Develops programs for accident prevention and awareness.

Guides and promotes safe work performance by developing safety systems, policies and procedures; developing safety campaign, communications, and recognitions; training managers and employees.

Complies with federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; interpreting standards; enforcing adherence to regulations; advising management on needed actions.

Enforces environmental and safety policies by conducting inspections, determining root cause and required corrective actions; reporting statistics; counseling managers and employees.

Promotes a safe environment by serving as liaison for coordinating and cooperating with local, state and regional safety groups and agencies.

Ensures OHSAS18001 and ISO 14001 system conformance.

Responsible for recording OSHA reporting requirements.

Maintains health, environmental and safety KPI's / HR Metrics.

Compiles mid-year and annual reports and reports to top management for review.

Identifies and anticipates EH&S concerns and hazards by surveying occupational conditions; rendering opinions on new equipment and procedures; investigating violations; recommending preventive programs.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Coordinates activities of environmental, health and safety committee.

Responsible for evaluation of environmental issues and completion of annual environmental report.

Assists with managing security of the ZF TSC facility.

Maintains MSDS/SDS sheets; developing and maintaining management information systems which identify the location of hazardous materials in all facilities; Disseminating Right-to-Know information and ensuring compliance with program.

Coordinates fork truck and panel truck safety program training and maintains fork truck licenses. Ensures program adheres to state and federal requirements.

Responsible for attending the annual EH&S meeting.

Maintain open door communication and promote an issue free work place.

Assist with scheduling of internal and external safety and compliance training.

Support SFM (Shop Floor Management) and work as cross-functional team to ensure the rollout of TSC programs, plant updates, and required training.

Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.

Understand and comply with ZFPS, TS16949, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and OSHA requirements and all state and local applicable laws

Manage Safety Activities and Investigations

Actively participate in meetings and training courses

Use PPE as required in specific work areas

Ability to train other associates in assigned work areas

Ability to communicate with associates, supervisors, technicians and managers

Basic computer skills

Complete required documentation and forms

May be required to work modified schedule to support customer requirements (ie: overtime, vacation coverage, off-shifts, 8 and/or 12 hour schedules, holidays, etc.

Perform other duties as related to this specific position

Comply with all Corporate, Regional, and local HR policies/guidelines, Group Directives and Group Procedures that are applicable to your position.

Adhere to Suspect Material and Containment Procedure (W150-04)

Computer skills; Excellent communication skills; Comprehensive knowledge of EHS processes, policies and procedures; Working knowledge of EPA and/or OSHA regulations; Knowledge of ISO or TS requirements and/or related quality systems

Bachelor's Degree (technical preferred)

2-5+ years (related)
