Responsibilities
Position Summary:

The material planner position is primarily responsible for planning, scheduling and coordination
of supply chain activities for purchased parts from suppliers to the production lines at ZFTG. Focus will be on achieving established stock levels; while assuring a continuous flow of material to meet production demands.

Position Responsibilities:
• ZFTG's main contact for direct production material suppliers in regards to supply chain / logistical support requirements.
• Release material delivery schedules through SAP, communicate demands with suppliers and track their
commitments/deliveries performance.
• Update the MD04 comment section within SAP in regards to material delivery concerns and the Material Hot Parts List with timing information for critical material delivery issues.
• Identify potential shortfalls or production interruption within supplier shipping lead times; determine
appropriate actions (i.e. special transport, conference calls with suppliers, etc.) to ensure material availability to support the ZFTG production schedule.
• Coordination of information/priorities with all appropriate departments to ensure timely flow of material to prevent interruptions in the manufacturing process or material handling process.
• Support the change management process to ensure revision levels or part number changes are
implemented in a timely manner; minimizing the impact on the production schedule and material
obsolescence.
• Monitor material in hold status or identified as return to vendor status to facilitate the process to ensure
impact on the production schedule will be minimized.
• Review stock levels, vendor performance, or production schedule trends to provide recommendations on
changes in MRP planning parameters, Kanban sizes or supplier delivery schedules.
• Maintain appropriate SAP master data for purchased parts; necessary to ensure correct information flow of releases to suppliers.
• Analyze root cause and define corrective actions for line stoppages related to material availability issues;
focused on the elimination of reoccurrences.
• Validate SAP inventory data - focused on potential material shortages.
• Assist in physical inventory activities used in the inventory validation process
• Participate in supply chain continuous improvement activities.
• Travel to supplier locations both domestic and international to assist in enhancing supply chain operations.
• Other duties required of this position; will be identified by the Logistic Supervisor - Material
Planning/Supplier Logistics Manager/Senior Logistics Manager to support project teams, continuous
improvement activities or critical non-standard logistical/supply chain support operations.
• Understand and comply with TS 16949 and ISO 14000 requirements.
• Supports and complies with established Company's Corporate Principles.
• Other duties as it relates to this position.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Associate's degree
• 2+ years' experience in material planning in manufacturing environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word)
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to schedule daily duties and to prioritize if needed
• Very good written and verbal communication skills
