Position Description:

This position is responsible for Technical Accounting and Financial reporting related to Division A.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Provide technical accounting consultation and support to internal constituents regarding IFRS and practical implementation thereof, including special projects
  • Stays abreast of new accounting pronouncements
  • Analyze impact of new accounting and disclosure requirements and provides Management with summary updates in a timely manner
  • Support monthly financial reporting process
  • Provide high quality customer service and support to business units and plants in response to their questions regarding IFRS and Accounting Policies
  • Assist with presentations to Finance Directors, internal constituents, internal meetings, etc.
  • Prepare slides and present at internal seminars which update accounting and finance individuals on recent accounting issues
  • Assist with coordination and implementation of tax restructuring plans as it relates to the impact on financial reporting
  • Perform goodwill impairment analysis and coordinate with outside consultants and internal personnel regarding assumptions, forecasts, etc.
  • Assist in the implementation of the Company’s Global Finance and Accounting Policy and Procedures
  • Perform high level account analyses and inform the financial reporting team of any unusual findings
  • Update templates used within financial management system to accumulate disclosure information
  • Work with the Financial Systems department to ensure the financial reporting system/structure appropriately responds to changing accounting or reporting requirements
  • Support in special projects such as purchase accounting, merger/acquisition/divestiture accounting, debt financing, accounting update presentations, tax restructurings, due diligence efforts, etc.


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • CPA license required
  • 4-7 years of relevant work experience required
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm required
  • Technical accounting background in IFRS and/or US GAAP and ability to perform research as needed is required


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Automotive industry experience is preferred
  • HFM or SAP experience preferred

Job Requirements

Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience and Skill Requirements
4 -7 years experience with intermediate computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). SAP experience preferred. Experience with HFM is a plus, though not required. Good interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and be a good team player. Strong interpersonal and communications skills are a must. CPA license required. IFRS experience preferred.
