Position Description

The role is in support of awarded KOEM application program through the development process, supporting execution of the launch of active forward-looking camera modules. The Program Manager is responsible for managing, without the need for significant direction, and executing projects within the business unit in accordance with ZF’s new product introduction management process requirements (GDPEP), predominantly Category 0 and 1 programs.


Position Requirements

  • The program manager is responsible to interface with all areas affected by the project, ensuring successful integration of all project work products.
  • To lead cross functional teams to deliver the objectives for new product introduction projects, ensuring effective use of the GDPEP gate process and the relevant functional processes (A 60, C 40, A 69, APQP)
  • Manage to achieve flawless launch of programs, ensuring thoroughness in defining and execution of project deliverables, generation and maintaining of project timing schedules, open issues lists, risk registers and change management control, setting team priorities to meet the agreed targets.
  • Balance the competing demands of scope, time, and cost (also known as the “triple constraint”) while achieving the highest quality and stakeholder/customer satisfaction levels.
  • Monitor and control the financial performance of the project to meet / exceed CQA baseline with critical focus on BOM %, DVP %, ER&D and CAPEX and to manage and report customer recoveries.
  • Escalate critical issues in a timely manner and to the appropriate level to ensure their rapid resolution by ensuring barriers that could impede program progress are removed.
  • Own interface to the customers (Internal and OEM) regarding program status.
  • Provide effective communication on all aspects of the program to internal stakeholders up to and including ZF Senior Management.


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering or related technical field required.
  • Must demonstrate achievement orientation and initiative, concern for order, quality and accuracy.
  • Must be information seeking with a customer/stakeholder service orientation.
  • Must demonstrate high levels of interpersonal communication skills with the ability to impact and influence others.
  • Must be a strong team leader fostering teamwork, cooperation, and relationship building while developing others.
  • Must demonstrate organizational awareness with superior organizational commitment and commercial intuition.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical thinking and problem solving using conceptual thinking and exhibit high levels of self-control, self-confidence, and flexibility.
  • Mentor and provide direction to less experienced program managers.
  • Must demonstrate competency in ZF product design fundamentals, automotive APQP processes, PPAP/ PSO processes, manufacturing knowledge, and financial management basics (capex and non-recurring cost mgt.).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of program management processes and tools.


Preferred Skills and Experience:


  • MBA preferred, although additional business management education/experience will be considered.
  • At least two years Project Management experience through the entire project life cycle as outlined in the PMI PMBOK (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, Closing).
  • Six to ten years of experience in the automotive or supplier industry.
  • Experienced and proficient in GDPEP processes and able to mentor others and lead teams through GDPEP processes and procedures.
  • Preferred PMP-certification through the Program Management Institute (PMI), with some review of certification through other certifying bodies considered (i.e., German Program Management Association (GPM)).
  • ADAS Camera experience preferred.
  • Korean proficiency preferred.
