Job Description

The product is electrically powered steering (EPS) systems that combine mechanical, electrical and software functions to deliver driver assistance, performance and safety while steering the vehicle. This position focuses on the mechatronic / electrical systems of product development which includes: sensors, motors, ECU, SW and control systems working together to provide smart actuation for vehicles today and for the future of autonomous driving.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The ability to think at the systems level to drive design solutions for complex systems using diverse disciplines: Software, Electrical and Mechanical.
  • Lead technical development of mechatronic design concepts, testing of systems and integration of electro-mechanical interfaces.
  • Operate within a cross functional team, understand the needs and requirements of internal stakeholders as well as external customers
  • Test, evaluate, troubleshoot and diagnose electronic and electro-mechanical issues
  • Meet project schedules and product specifications
  • Identify/specify future requirements for mechatronic systems
  • Follow core engineering development processes and budget requirements

Job Requirements

Education Requirements
•A Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, mechatronics or systems

Experience and Skill Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years of experience related to electrical / mechanical control systems; preferably working in an automotive environment
• Solid knowledge and understanding of analytical investigations of electrical/electronic/motor controlled systems and interacting components
• Experience using: SPICE, MATLAB, CANape
• Capable of using electrically based lab test equipment & tools
• Experience working with motors & sensors and related components
• Experience working with a cross-functional team in a development effort
• Experience working with and managing suppliers (internal or external) of critical parts and components
• Highly pro-active, thinks ahead, reports issues and setbacks promptly
• Team player on all levels
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
