Job Description

Position Responsibilities:
  • Work with domestic and international suppliers to develop top of the line manufacturing processes for ZF Machined Iron and Machined Forging assembly components.
  • Support supplier program and outsourcing launches by assessing a manufacturing process to increase yield at a supplier.
  • Lead and assist in solving supplier manufacturing driven quality concerns.
  • Support Division operation plan by supporting and pursuing cost reduction opportunities through manufacturing improvements within the supply base.
Required Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • BS Degree in Engineering / Technical field
  • At least six (6) years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Automotive machining steel forgings, bar, and iron
  • Ability to identify process changes in a machining operation to improve yield, and identify root causes for supplier driven machining issues
  • Strong math based and computer skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, strong leadership presence and organizational communication stills
  • Must be able to work independently domestically and abroad
  • Ability to prioritize program responsibilities to meet project timelines
  • Must be able to work with and provide verbal direction
  • Ability and confidence in giving direction to suppliers or a 3rd party both foreign and domestic essential
  • Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally, 40%-50% of the time
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
  • Automotive Quality Experience is a plus.
  • Ability to program and adjust CNC equipment. Supplier Quality Experience.
  • Ability to create, review, or improve PFMEAs and control plans. APQP and PPAP experience
  • Bilingual candidates will be given priority
Essential Technical Qualifications:
  • Computer: Proficient with MS Office Suite. Minitab experience, any programing language knowledge is a plus
  • Quality: Familiar with manufacturing quality processes and documents (PFMEA, Control plan etc.)
  • Engineering: GD&T, Technical drawing interpretation, Familiarity with basic materials strength and properties.
